LOVE, MARRIAGE AND A MIRACLE
November 21, 2022
On November 15th, the Respiratory and Nursing Center of Dayton(RND) lobby was transformed into a wedding venue. James Ford Jr., the son of RND’s beloved resident, James Ford Sr., who is a United States Air Force veteran and a long-term resident at RND, was getting married to his bride-to-be Vanessa. James Sr. is on a ventilator, so traveling distances for a wedding is a little difficult. The solution, bring the wedding to him. That is exactly what James Jr. and Vanessa decided to do. James Jr. and Vanessa are United State Air Force veterans themselves and met while serving our country.

Becky Baker, the Administrator at Respiratory and Nursing Center of Dayton said,
"The population that we are called to serve at Respiratory and Nursing Center of Dayton gives us a gift of developing friendships and becoming family. Becoming part of the family of our residents is not something we just say or take lightly. This is an honor that we hold dear and we mean it in every sense of duty, responsibility, love and sharing that comes with being family. When the family of our long-loved resident wanted to have a wedding at our facility so he could attend, we jumped at the idea. We were so honored to witness their union as they were surrounded by their loved ones."
