That One Person
Christine Hoffman-Ulmer, Bob Speelman and Chris Cichon
July 15, 2022I had the honor of working with two amazing Nursing Assistants by the names of Chris Cichon and Christine Hoffman-Ulmer. They have both been Nursing Assistants for 11 years, and they both started at Country View of Sunbury, our center located in Sunbury, Ohio, just North of Columbus. Chris is 38, and Christine is 53, and they both are amazing. Their love and compassion for their resident is inspiring. They both work on the Memory Care Unit at Country View of Sunbury. Their unit has 17 private rooms that are all full and has a waiting list. Why? Because of caregivers like Chris and Christine.
I asked both of them what makes them love their jobs. Chris told me that he loves getting in early and making sure his resident get the proper care and showers first thing. He said,
“I know for myself that means a lot, and I want to make an impact and start their day off right.” Christine told me that she loves the way this unit is structured, with two Nursing Assistants, a Nurse and Activity Aide. She said,
“this give me plenty of time for care and spending with my resident to make a real difference and making them know how special they are.”
I have to tell you, the two of them about brough tears to my eyes. The passion and love they showed was humbling. We are so lucky to have them on our team and caring for our residents.
Chris and Christine – Thank you both for being that one person!
