Foundations Health Moves to
In-House Therapy

Foundations Health Solutions has moved our Therapy Services in-house. Over the past six months, Foundations has been in the process of moving our Therapy Services, which have historically been contracted out, in-house to combat the issues our Therapy Department was facing with the productivity model used in contract therapy. This productivity model measures success by the number of patients and patient sessions a Therapist has in a day. These expectations limited our therapy teams and removed their ability to shape the care they provide to the individual needs of their patients.

When these concerns were addressed by a couple of the leaders in our Therapy Department, the Foundations' team wanted to do what we could to make a change. As we began to implement these changes throughout our company, it was clear to see from both the mobility and self-care functional outcomes of our residents that these changes were not only beneficial to our teams but for the best interest of our residents as well.

Recently, these leaders who have been working to make change happen in Foundations' Therapy Department sat down with Bob Speelman in a panel discussion to share just how this change came to be.
