Foundations Health Gathering at Ohio Health Care Association

May 2, 2019
What happens when you combine Ohio’s top long term care trade association (Ohio Health Care Association) with Ohio Premier Provider of Long Term Care (Foundations Health Solutions)? You get a convention of all conventions!

This week Ohio Health Care Association held its annual convention at the Columbus Convention Center and Foundations Health Solutions made it presence and culture known. The whole thing started of with recognition before the General Assembly of two of our Administrators that graduated from the first ever OHCA Leadership Academy. We are very proud of Nick Anderson, Administrator at Maria Joseph in Dayton and a Regional Administrator for the Dayton Market and Mike Helco, Administrator at Meadow Grove in Grove City.

Then two more of our outstanding leaders where recognized by OHCA for their commitment and sacrifice to their facilities, residents and communities. Keith Larry, STNA at Hickory Ridge in Akron, was honored as OHCA’s Caregiver of the Year.

Joseph Obuobisa was recognized by OHCA as one of the Heroes of Long Term Care. Joseph is the Housekeeping & Laundry supervisor at Crown Pointe in Columbus. You can read about his recognition by clicking on the link below:

Then three of our outstanding employee’s received scholarship from OHCA to further their education: Danielle Brooks, Tara Butler, and Carri Rejonis.

Our Director of Operations, Levi Lunsford, and the Director of Post-Acute Services at MedOne, Molly Cancila, spoke at one of the sessions on Long Term Care Leadership.

The entire event culminated in the Foundations Party that took up four of the ballrooms at the Columbus Convention Center Hyatt. The party began with the finals of the first annual Last Tray Standing competition with the honor going to The Home at Hearthstone.

Then we had dinner and sang Karaoke, Rode Bulls, Sumo-Wrestled, and enjoyed each other's company as we celebrated our Culture of Care. Dusty Ellinger with Rolf Law said it best when he shared the following at the party -  “This isn’t like any of the other parties I’ve attended. This is like a Family Reunion.”

Dusty, you couldn’t have paid us any higher of a compliment!

“Companies and employees worry about work-life separation or work-life balance. But why?... Wouldn’t you rather be a company where your employees easily combine their full self into everything they do? Wouldn’t you rather work for a company whose focus on culture allows you to integrate with your life? It shouldn’t be a struggle to find a balance between life and work where you are fulfilled and happy.”
- Zappos

We love our team and we love our residents. That’s why we are so proud of what we have going on in our Culture of Care!

Bob Speelman, STNA
