Continued Effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic

March 27, 2023
Since the rise of the pandemic in early 2020, we have seen an increase in respiratory needs within our community, along with the level of care needed by many of these residents. We have ensured our teams are equipt to handle these advanced needs through additional training, updated protocols, and continuous education.

Though our teams are well suited to handle the increased needs that coincide with respiratory care, the funds to compensate for these needs are not fully covered under the Patient Driven Payment Models (PDPM) currently in use.

Tyler Myers, Director of Clinical Services at FHS, spoke with Skilled Nursing News on what we are currently seeing in our facilities. Click the button below to read more about these evolving effects of the pandemic in Skilled Nursing News' recent article, "Nursing Home Operators Concerned About PDPM Rates as Respiratory, Pressure Ulcer Care Rises."
